My 20 Minutes
An extinction level asteroid is speeding toward Earth. Scientists have seen it coming for a while and impact is inevitable. The US government has issued every citizen one of those indestructible black boxes airlines use with a video recording device capable of recording 20 minutes of audio/video, in hopes that they may be discovered by possible survivors, or extraterrestrial explorers, in the future. What do you want to use your last 20 minutes on Earth to say?
My 20 Minutes is a series of videos created by participants, with a view toward distilling what they want to say to their loved ones and/or future generations, as if an asteroid impact was imminent.
We all have a future date with a metaphorical asteroid at some point that will serve as an ending to our bodies, so putting some thought into the stories/memories we want to leave behind seems wise.
Participants are free to include anything they wish: biographical stories, favorite foods, expressions of love and gratitude, aspirations, hopes, wishes, regrets, pet peeves, etc.
They may record solo, or include friends or family in their message.
They are not obligated to fill the whole 20 minutes, but once the 20 minute time limit has elapsed, the video stops, whether they are finished, or not – like life itself is wont to do.
This exercise may help people examine the choices they make regarding where they choose to focus their attention and intention, and might provide some insights for personal growth.
